In this article, let me update you on the latest 2017 winter/ 2018 spring fashion trends.
1. Pearls on everything
Recently this trend, all of a sudden, took control in the fashion world. Pearls on berets and boots are the most seen trend, and in fact, the boots on the pic above are from Zara. I don’t think this trend will go on for long and maybe only in Japan, but we’ll see.
2. （Colorful）Puffy Jackets
(Fenty Pooma by Rihanna, Balenciaga, Versace, Tod’s, 3.1 Phillip Lim )
Puffy jackets were so trendy in 2016-2017AW but among them, the colorful ones were in. This was a street fashion trend as well as a trend frequently seen on runways.
（Miu Miu, Moschino, Prada, Dior Homme, Givenchy)
Yes, better to buy a fake fur to have a bit of fun with the design and to show you’re also eco-friendly. A bit eccentric IMO, but that’s what fashion says is in. I admit, these colorful fur coats are cute!
4. Newsboy hat, Sailor cap, Berets
Kind of 2016, but this trend is still hanging on. Black hats are stylish as seen in the pics above and are suitable for winter season. Berets are always talked about in a bad way on Internet because they make a person’s head look like a mushroom. In order to prevent this, you must wear your beret well, meaning don’t wear it shallow. If you wear it well and cover your whole head and then pinch the top and shape it well, a beret will sit on you perfectly.
5. Rainbow, Colorful & Pop Everything/, Patterns
(Barneys NY, Dior, Versace )
I’m guessing 2018 will be a very pop-colorful, catchy-eyecandy year for fashion and it has already started.
6. Chunky Sneakers
（Gucci, Stella McCartney, Balenciaga, Adidas, Zara ）
White chunky sneakers are slowly dominating Instagram, but honestly, this trend is ugly. I’m sorry, but not. Zara did a good job of ripping off Balenciaga’s chunky sneakers (can be seen above), other than that, Gucci, Stella McCartney and similar brands are now making chunky sneakers.
If the fashion industry comes up with another different (weird) trend, I will make sure to keep you posted.
Stay fashionable, Millennials.
