【Witty】The Biggest Research Institute in the World – SRI International【Wednesday】

You know what I want to do before I die? To reveal the world’s mystery. With that thought in mind, Witty Wednesday aims to deliver slightly controversial articles. This time we will introduce the world’s largest research laboratory/institute SRI International.

In this article, I introduced the mysterious Tavistock Institute in the UK.

This time, I will take up the non-profit research institution “SRI International” located in the United States. The full name of “SRI International” is “Stanford Research Institute International.” Founded in 1946, the parental organization is Stanford University.

Nonetheless, in 1970 it became completely independent from the university, and now it has become a nonprofit organization in the United States as mentioned above. In 1975 it was renamed to the current name and its goals are to…

invent solutions that solve your most challenging problems today and look ahead to the needs of the future

LOL

Headquarters are located in Menlo Park, California, not so far from the Stanford University itself as you can see on the map below.

CEO of the SRI is someone called William A. Jeffrey who’s alma mater is MIT and Harward and who’s specialized in astrology and physics.

On a first glance, so to say, it doesn’t seem to be suspicious. Looking at their history it looks like they’re contributing to research and development, patent acquisition of new technology. Even one of Siri’s founder comes from here.
For example, in terms of Siri (that thing iPhone users sometimes play around with when they can’t sleep), SRI is involved in the development and patent acquisition of it.
The research and the development department initially launched as a division of SRI was later sold to the afterward. In the past, Walt Disney has also consulted with SRI regarding the establishment of Disneyland.

Since it was founded in 1946 after the WW2 was over, it probably was associated with the government during the war as well. Their history is pretty long. SRI greatly contributed to the development of computers, and also was involved in the development of SWIFT code. If you have sent money abroad, you’ll be familiar with the SWIFT code.

SRI has a system called the “SRI Five Disciplines of Innovation®”. Click here for details

  1. Important Customer and Market Needs
  2. Value Creation
  3. Innovation Champions
  4. Innovation Teams
  5. Organizational Alignment

Business partners seem to be diverse including government-related organizations, academic institutions, and private companies. Contrary to the Tavistock Institute, they seem to be more focused on technology rather than on psychology or brainwashing etc.

Comment from the Author

What struck me as suspicious is … well, everything really. Everything about this organization is suspicious, but the fact that they’re working with various major corporations is one of the factors. The number of patents that they have is notable too.

Also, due to the impression that it is closely connected with the US government, among the conspiracy theorists, SRI International seems to appear in the list of notorious laboratories along with the Tavistock Institute.
But No. 1 suspicious factor is surely this. In the 1980’s, in collaboration with CIA, they were studying the psychic phenomena in the army. It was called the “Stargate Project”. Officially, SRI has not commented at all on the SP, but you can find documents on this in the CIA archive. This is probably why SRI is always closely associated with the conspiracy theory.
Another cause that SRI is associated with the conspiracy theory is the fact that a lot of the subsidiaries are acquired by large companies such as Google or 🍎.

Well, what do you think? Is it a generous, philanthropic organization that makes people’s lives better? Or is it a notorious satanic organization?
